About the service
Dental implants are the modern standard for replacing missing teeth. A titanium post is placed into the jawbone to act as an artificial tooth root, topped with a custom-made crown that blends seamlessly with your smile. The result is a fixed, natural-looking tooth replacement that restores your bite, smile, and confidence.
Whether you’re replacing a single tooth or several, our team designs each implant to match your bite and facial aesthetics, giving you a long-lasting, low-maintenance solution. At Top Dental in Huntington Park, Dr. Alex Lee reviews oral health, available bone, and treatment options as part of individualized dental implant planning. If you need additional bone support, treatment may include bone grafting or a sinus lift. Patients replacing multiple teeth can also explore full-mouth implant options. The appropriate approach depends on your examination and imaging findings.

After surgery
01
The first 24 hours
Some oozing and mild swelling are normal. Rest with your head elevated, use ice packs on and off, and take medications exactly as prescribed. If you had IV sedation, a responsible adult must drive you home.
02
Days 2 to 3
Swelling and soreness usually peak around the second or third day, then improve steadily. Stick to soft, cool foods and avoid chewing on the implant site.
03
The first week
Most patients return to work or school within a day or two. Gentle warm salt-water rinses keep the area clean. Avoid smoking, straws and strenuous exercise while you heal.
04
Follow-up visit
We check your healing about one to two weeks after surgery and answer any questions you have.
05
Integration (3 to 6 months)
The implant fuses with your jawbone over the next few months. Once it is stable, your final crown, bridge or denture is attached.
FAQ
Most healthy adults who are missing one or more teeth can get implants. We evaluate your bone with a 3D CBCT scan and review your medical history. If there isn’t enough bone, a bone graft or sinus lift can often make implants possible.
The procedure is done with local anesthesia, and IV sedation or nitrous oxide is available if you would rather be relaxed or asleep. Most patients find the soreness afterward milder than they expected, and it is usually managed with over-the-counter or prescribed pain medication.
With good home care and regular dental checkups, implants can last for decades. The crown on top may eventually need to be replaced because of normal wear.
The implant surgery itself is usually done in a single visit. Healing and bone integration typically take 3 to 6 months before the final tooth is attached. If a bone graft is needed first, plan for additional healing time.
In most cases there are temporary options so you are not without a tooth in a visible area. We will go over the option that fits your case at your consultation.
